Where we are...

Our electric bike rental shop is located at Loma Vista, just right of the Big Sur Bakery.

At the moment, we are in an area only accessible to the public by helicopter or the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge Bypass Trail.  Be advised that the trail has about 300' of elevation gain.

If you are not staying in Big Sur, to reach the Bypass Trail, you have two parking options.  If you are early (before noon), find a parking spot in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.  Buy a day use pass ($10) and follow directions given at the gate.  After noon, we recommend parking at Andrew Molera State Park ($10) and taking the shuttle provided by Sur Transportation ($5) to the trailhead.  If you are staying at a motel or campground in Big Sur, ask your host for the best way to get here.

The Post Ranch Inn is now offering an "Escape Through the Skies" package to fly in & stay.  Those who venture here have the unique opportunity to once again experience Big Sur "as it was"--fifty years ago.  If you are staying at the Post Ranch Inn, they can give you a ride to the Big Sur Adventures Barn.  Or you can hike down in about 20 minutes.

Winter storms of 2017 have been devastating to Big Sur. Most notably, the bridge at Pfeiffer Canyon (less than a mile north of where our bike tours begin) has been demolished.  So there is no vehicle access from Monterey.

Entry from the south is also blocked by mudslides and road collapse.  Crews are actively working on repairs, but these areas are only open to residents and construction workers--at limited times--for resupply.
